Racecourse Vision unveiled

Last Monday we held our regular bi-monthly WST members forum at the Centenary Club.  Following the launch of the development plans for the Racecourse the previous Friday, we were fortunate to have members of the development team present at the meeting to discuss the document - The Racecourse - A Vision 2012.

The Chair of the group is Wrexham legend Barry Horne, Anthony Fairclough, Wrexham FC's Chief Executive and Paul Roberts, Strategic Director for Economic Development at Wrexham County Borough Council.  A broad overview of the plans was given and questions taken by the panel.  More details with diagrams can be seen on the WST website, along with a full report of the forum. Our next members' forum will be held on 22nd January, 2007.
The exciting news was that it is anticipated we will reach our Target 250 much earlier than originally thought, maybe as early as the New Year.  It is a fantastic achievement by everyone concerned and once the target has been reached, a new target of £300,000 is to be set!!  Our Christmas raffle will help us reach the target and if you are able to sell more tickets, please do so.
The Junior Dragons continues to go from strength to strength.  We are looking for a sponsor for the Junior Dragons and if anyone can help us regarding this, please contact the Trust. 200 members will be attending the Christmas Party on Sunday, 17th December where they will be able to meet the players.  We now have over 500 Junior Dragons and it is great to see so many children involved in their local Club.
The Trust is also grateful to goalkeeper Mike Ingham for stepping in at the last minute and replacing Darren Ferguson as our guest at the meeting and for subjecting himself to Pete Jones's questions.
The other way of helping us reach the target is to support WST events.  The Christmas Party is a sell out but tickets are now being sold for the Arsenal Reunion Event on 7th January, 2007.  We also have Christmas cards on sale and we are continuing to take orders for our beer - Benno and Tommy's.
Following on to the Dragon's fantastic win in the FA Cup last Saturday at high-flying Scunthorpe, we now look forward to playing Derby in the next round early in the New Year.  The WST will be running buses to this match, as we do to all away matches - look out for further details.
