The Shropshire Reds held a draw which saw four lucky members drawn out to experience travelling with the team, and stay in overnight accommodation. The four lucky winners were Mark Griffiths, Darren Spilsted, Simon and Peter Roberts.
Following there unique experience they wrote to the Supporters Trust' thanking them for the opportunity:
"We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks and gratitude for organising the visit to Sutton United. It was a fantastic experience which none of us will forget.
The players were friendly and it was evident that it is a team that all work for each other, as the atmosphere amongst them was superb. Andy Morrell, Billy Barr and Alan, the kit man, were particularly welcoming and went out of their way for us to feel at ease and part of the group.
The overnight accommodation was at the Holiday Inn in Chessington and was of a very high standard, which helped the players relax before the game... and we enjoyed relaxing also!
At Sutton itself the hospitality shown to us was excellent and even though we admitted to having our names drawn out of a hat to participate as representatives of Wrexham AFC, instead of being more typical directors who have the means to invest and support on a large scale, we received a very warm welcome. Refreshments in the form of a selection of drinks and food were plentiful in the boardroom and the final result, which probably flattered us, was the icing on the cake, as we watched from the directors' box.
This occasion wouldn't happen at a premiership club, our Supporters' Trust and the Shropshire Reds' role in organising it showed their commitment to realising a successful community club owned and enjoyed by the fans.
We all felt that this is an event that could be repeated, which could provide an additional source of revenue for the club and give supporters many happy memories!"
With those final comments in mind Wrexham Football Club would like to invite any businesses / supporters groups / or a group of friends to have the same opportunity by sponsoring the away coach to any of the remaining league or FA Trophy away games to the end of the season. A maximum of four people would be allowed to travel with the team and have the opportunity to be directors for the day.
