Press Release from Wrexham Supporters Trust

Wrexham Supporters Trust notes the considerable interest from supporters in the press release issued yesterday by Glyndwr University.

Representatives of the Board have met with the University on a number of occasions, initially to discuss the potential development of a new KOP stand following a site visit to the Leeds Carnegie Stand some months ago, then to discuss a potential partnership and latterly to discuss a potential contemporaneous deal to acquire the Racecourse, Colliers Park and Wrexham FC.

During these meetings we have outlined the essential requirements to sustain the Club, including the requirement to have appropriate lease or other arrangement providing security of tenure in place to fulfil its commitments to the football authorities and to generate sufficient revenue to enable it to survive and thrive. Clearly any third party purchase of the Racecourse must be supportive of supporters' desires to retain the current level of football at the Racecourse.

The Board wishes to emphasise that talks are ongoing and nothing has yet been agreed.
