Hamilton and Guterman to face DTI investigation

Ian Lucas welcomes DTIs action over former Wrexham chairmen

WREXHAM MP Ian Lucas has revealed that the Government has started legal action to disqualify as company directors two former Chairmen of Wrexham Football Club.

Mr Lucas asked the Department for Trade and Industry to take action following the successful court action taken by the Club's former Administrators. Now, former Wrexham directors Alex Hamilton and Mark Guterman could be disqualified from acting as company directors in the future.

Trade and Industry Minister Jim Fitzpatrick states in a letter to Ian Lucas that proceedings have now been commenced against Hamilton and Guterman but no trial date has yet been fixed.

Mr Lucas said: I am glad to hear that High Court action is being taken against Mr Hamilton and Mr Guterman in response to my request.

I have not forgotten what happened off the pitch at Wrexham Football Club and neither have the Clubs fans.
While events on the pitch are currently uppermost in peoples minds, we need to take steps to ensure other football clubs do not experience what happened at Wrexham.
