First Team Update - Mills signs Vidal at the back Featured

a Vidal England U21A day of two movements, as first manager Gary Mills confirmed the release of striker Andy Bishop and then completed the signing of defender Javan Vidal.

After initially joining the Reds on loan from Bury in 2012/13, he signed a two-year deal in the summer of 2013.

In around 100 appearances he scored just over 25 goals and was appreciated by the Racecourse faithful.

We can only wish Andy well for the future and thank him for all his efforts during his time with us.

Meanwhile, another new signing sees Javan arriving in Wales after a season spent at Tamworth working with Andy Morrell.

The 26-year-old attacking full back was a former England under-19 and under-20 international, who started his career at Manchester City, where he came through the club's youth team academy. 

He did play once for the Blues, in the Worthington Cup against West Bromwich Albion, but had to make do with loan spell at Grimsby Town, Aberdeen, Derby County and Chesterfield to gain first team experience.

Released by City in 2012, he a short spell with Greek club Panetolikos but returned home to sign for Stockport County and then Rochdale.

Last summer he joined Tamworth in the Vanarama South and helped them towards the play-offs, only missing out right at the end of the season.
