Wrexham Football Club will this year be holding their annual Player of the Season Awards dinner on Sunday 24th April at the Lion Quays, kicking off at 12.30pm for 1pm.

As well as Gary Mills and the first team squad attending we have Steve Daley as our after dinner speaker who famously joined Manchester City from Wolves for a then British record transfer fee of £1,437,500. Having signed a ten year contract and leaving after just two, it soon became obvious it was not the most successful transfer in football!

Previous to this Steve had played for a number of clubs including Southampton, for which he scored a goal during his debut. He also played for the England Youth team, also scoring a goal in his debut match. After his stint at Manchester City, Steve transferred overseas (to get away from the press) to join the Seattle Sounders where he played alongside our very own Gary Mills.

Steve returned to the UK to play for Burnley, then in his final year as a pro was at Walsall FC, he then went on to become the manager at Bromsgrove Rovers. Nowadays Steve concentrates on his After Dinner Speaking, from which he has become renowned as one of the best footballing after dinner speakers on the circuit.

Steve will be followed by comedian impressionist Les Gibson who has appeared in the final of Britain's Got Talent, is often called 'The Man Of A Thousand Voices because of the accuracy and sheer number of characters that he can impersonate.

As well as this great afternoon of entertainment there is a two-course meal, before the Player of the Season awards will be presented by the various supporters’ groups.

Tickets cost £35 each and are available on line at http://sa1.seatadvisor.com/sabo/servlets/TicketRequest?eventId=1020846&presenter=TLWREXHAMAFC&venue=&event= or from the Club Shop itself.
