Not that we need further reason to be proud of the supporters of our great club but we felt we should share an event taking place this weekend which gives us all a reminder that we do have the best fans around.
On Saturday 7th May at 1.30, two supporters from each side of the border will be putting their rivalries aside for the 3rd time in the Supporters Charity Cup at Chester's Lookers Vauxhall Stadium. The game has been organised by Wrexham AFC supporter Liam Braisdell and Chester FC supporter Ben Miotti.
Both lads have organised 2 games in the past 8 months for two seperate charities. One charity was Cameron's Cause, a charity aimed at one Chester FC supporter Cameron Rowley who fell unwell while he was on holiday. This game raised over £400. The second charity was local hospice Nightingale House which raised a fantastic £620.
The next game takes place on Saturday 7th May at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium for Little Princess Trust who provide real hair wigs for Cancer patients.
Ben said " We were looking at different charities that meant something to the players. I did my research and the Little Princess Trust seemed one of the most deserving as they supply cancer patients who have suffered hair loss with real hair wigs, they have also helped a member of family of one of the players."
Liam added "We would love support from both clubs support on Saturday to help us put the bad publicity about the derby games over the years behind us and prove to North Wales and Cheshire police both sets of supporters can behave in the same place and raise some money for a deserving charity"
Admission into the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium £1 Adults 50p Child. Kick off is at 1.30
We hope to see as many of you support these young lads as possible
