2016 was an incredible for all of us at the DSA FC!

We saw unbelievable growth of Wrexham DSA FC, to the point where we are now widely regarded as Wales’s largest disability football club.

Our weekly sessions see over 40 different players attend over the course of a month, and we now run a campaign in partnership with the Racecourse Community Foundation and the FAW Trust, called ‘We Wear The Same Shirt’, aimed at breaking down the stigma’s attached to mental health through football.

On the pitch we have seen amazing success and brought some form of silverware home from almost every tournament we’ve entered; Lewes – Runners up, Middlesbrough – Runners up, Bradford – Winners, Doncaster – Winners, PMLC tournament – Winners, Motivate NW Wales – Finalists, Lilleshall – Winners, Lytham – Winners, Everton – Finalists, Motivate NE Wales – Finalists.

We’ve had astounding support from local businesses this year, the list of gratitude is an extremely long one, and for that reason we won’t thank you all individually, but know that we are extremely grateful to you all for your help and support throughout 2016. We simply couldn’t have done it without you!

We also say thanks to those that have helped and supported us in other ways, to us time is as valuable as money, if not more so.

2016 ended well for us, with our end of year awards night, held at the Centenary Club. The presentation evening was a huge success as we recognised the achievements of our players throughout 2016 with every player picking up a trophy, and with some winning individual awards. Wrexham Captain, Rob Evans was on hand to present the awards so many thanks to Robbie for his time.

2017 promises to be another amazing year as we take a team to Munich to represent Wrexham at one of Europe’s largest mental health tournaments in May. Pitting our wits against some of the biggest names in club football such as hosts Bayern Munich, we will be representing the UK alongside the likes of Manchester City, Everton and Middlesbrough, so please follow and support us on our journey to Germany.

Thanks to everyone who helped make 2016 such a successful year!
