More trouble at Weymouth

The situation at Weymouth deteriorates. A few weeks ago we reported that the financial situation and management at the club was causing concerns amongst their supporters.

The Terras Trust were moved to issue a statement calling on the clubs unpopular owner,Malcolm Curtis,to stand down. Under Mr Curtis, a property developer, the club has amassed a sizable debt whilst the assets of the club have been sold to Mr Curtis and his associates. All of this will resonate with Wrexham fans who remember the grim days under Guterman & Hamilton.

This weeks Non League paper carried reports that the clubs very existence may be under threat as the owner of neighbours Dorchester Town is looking to buy the club and merge it with Dorchester Town.

In response to the situation the Terras Trust and the Weymouth Supporters Club have joined forces to form 'Save Our Club' which hopes to raise money to save Weymouth.

Having been in a similar situation ourselves we wish them all the best in their efforts.
