I’m 47 years old, married and a father of two girls who has lived in Wrexham all of my life. I have been a supporter of Wrexham Football Club since 1983 and my first game was against Halifax Town. I am a season ticket holder along with both of my daughters who attend games with me.
I believe I would make a good addition to the board and would bring many skills I have acquired through my experiences of managing a large Joinery merchant with a turnover of £2m+. I have been a manager with my employers since 2003 from when I was promoted from my assistant managers role and was given the task to open a new store, this store became one of the fastest growing in the North West. A manager with our company is responsible for their own team and their own local business. Depot managers have the authority to make decisions and solve problems and is responsible for growing their business and managing everything locally as a local business would.
After just under three years at me first store I was moved to one of the busiest branches in the North West which had a low profit margin and even though recession had just kicked in I grew the profit by £200000 over the next three years and then went on to run another store in the North West before becoming the manager of my home town branch here in Wrexham in January 2017.
Last year the Wrexham store had its record sales performance since its opening in 2001. Being the manager of my home town store has allowed me to be able to place a pitch side advert at the Racecourse and regularly supply goods to Wrexham football club for maintenance and improvement projects. It’s also a pleasure that as a manager we get a charitable budget which I have been able to support many schools across Wrexham as well as sponsor the Wrexham Inclusion FC Website at https://www.wrexhaminclusionfc.co.uk.
I am committed to taking Wrexham Football Club forward our stay in none league has been far too long. I believe in fans ownership and the model of the Wrexham Supporters Trust and will bring many skills I have acquired over the last 15 years as a branch manger. I would like to see some changes including more dialogue from the board to the members and supporters of Wrexham football club.
