Trust Response to ¢‚¬Å“A Message From The Owners¢‚¬

It is not our policy to respond to every statement made by the owners of Wrexham FC. We would prefer to work with the owners in order to move the club forward. To that end, earlier this week, we accepted an invitation from the new Club Chairman, Mr Rob Bickerton, to discuss the possibility of a WST representative joining the board of Wrexham FC in the very near future.

We are still committed to this initiative. However the publication and timing of this latest club statement leaves us as puzzled and confused as every other supporter who has studied it. The messages given, and language employed, are at odds with the approach taken by Mr Bickerton, only this week, which sought to build bridges between club and fans.

To summarise the statement it would appear that the owners are still intent on removing the ground from the club and following this act they will then sell the club to anyone who wants it. Of course the fans are to blame for all of this, as they always have been since Mr Moss arrived at our club.

It is distressing to learn that Mr Moss would consider dealing with a character like Steven Vaughan and just as distressing to see the owner of Wrexham Village using Dean Saunders as a ¢‚¬Å“human shield¢‚¬. The idea that fans are actively seeking to remove Dean is fanciful. The fans have issue with owners who are seeking to remove the clubs only asset and not a manager trying to restore this club to its rightful place.

We will deal with just two points made in the club statement.

8) We consider that some statements made on behalf of the WST regarding current issues to be completely inaccurate.

No detail is given regarding which statements are inaccurate. We would be grateful if the owners of Wrexham Village could furnish us with details of those statements in order that we could address those concerns. Obviously the board of the Society has no wish to make inaccurate statements and will address the clubs concerns as a matter of some urgency.

7) The Club was offered for sale to the WST for £1 with an option to buy the ground, a preliminary meeting took place but there has been no further response.

We have to take issue with this statement. We also understand that Mr Moss has made similar statements in personal correspondence with supporters of the club. The impression given is that the owners of Wrexham FC have been keen to do a deal with the WST and that the WST have been avoiding contact with them for some time.

This is a disgraceful misrepresentation of the facts and Mr Moss should be thoroughly ashamed of himself for making claims which call into question the integrity of the Society Board. We cannot have board members attend matches and social events at which their integrity is called into question by supporters who have been fed a load of nonsense by Mr Moss.

We will not have our characters impugned in this manner and set out below the correspondence between the board of the WST and WFC following the ¢‚¬Å“initial meeting¢‚¬ on April 29th 2010.

It will be very apparent which party was willing to talk and which party was not.

Following the meeting on the 29th April we were not able to sit down with the owners of the club until October. At that meeting they agreed to share the clubs financial information with our advisors.

Sadly, despite numerous requests, all recorded, they have been unwilling to back up their offer. In fact since October they have ceased responding to any correspondence relating to the sale of club and ground.

It would appear that far from being a serious offer the whole exercise was one big game orchestrated by the directors of Wrexham Village. Much of our time has been wasted by this charade.

It saddens us to see the owners of our club indulge in gross misrepresentation of the facts and does call into question the many other unsubstantiated claims made by them of late.

It is not our intention to seek conflict with the owners of Wrexham FC but we will move to protect our good name when necessary. Experience of dealing with Mr Moss has taught us the value of recording all our correspondence so that there is no room for conjecture. We sincerely hope that this will put an end to false statements from the owners of Wrexham Village.

Dear Ian,
I would like to thank yourself and your fellow directors for meeting with WST on the 29th.
Having reviewed the notes made at the meeting, the board of the Society has asked me to write to you to follow up your suggestion that WST could acquire the football club (WFC) from Wrexham Village.
There were two options mentioned at the meeting ;
- WST acquire the football club for a pound
- WST acquire the football club and ground for £2m.
We would appreciate the opportunity to explore both options with you in order to ascertain whether these options are viable for the Society to pursue.
I shall be grateful if you will furnish me with dates when you will be available to meet to discuss this matter with us in more detail.
Yours sincerely,
Lindsay Jones

Hi Ian,
Thanks for this.
Just a quick not for you. We have our AGM tomorrow evening. The likelihood is that we will be asked about any discussions with the club regarding this subject.
I will have to say something along the lines of.
We have had an initial discussion regarding many issues. This was one subject that was discussed and we have agreed to follow up this issue with a further meeting. At this point there is nothing to report.
I would rather not discuss this matter as it will put pressure on us that I would not want at such an early stage, however we are accountable.
You may wish to consider a club response to this in case you are asked, feel free to use our statement.
Look forward to meeting with you soon.
Regards, Lindsay

Hi Ian,
I hope you are well.
I have not heard from you for a little while and was wondering if this was something that Wrexham Village would still like to pursue?
I appreciate that you will also be talking to other parties.
Regards,Lindsay
