Wrexham Football Club will be hosting a Macmillan coffee event at the Centenary Club on Friday 27th September between 12:30pm-2:30pm, raising funds for this worthy cause. Far too many people have been affected by cancer in one way or another and MacMillan Cancer Support knows how a diagnosis can affect everything. Macmillan are here to support us and help us take back some control of our life, offering help with money worries and advice about work, to someone who’ll listen if you just want to talk, they’re there.
The first ever Macmillan Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, Macmillan did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Macmillan Coffee Mornings have raised over £200 million and in 2018 an incredible £26,914,382 was raised with the aim of improving that this year.
We invite you all to attend, have a chat and enjoy a relaxing couple of hours for a fantastic cause. Wrexham AFC management and players will be in attendance so why not come along and sample a slice of cake and drink. Pupils from the Wrexham Pupil Referral Service, Stiwdio Penycae will also be joining us on the day. The pupils are really looking forward to you sampling their cakes, which are available to buy on the day, making their hard work and effort worthwhile.
To make this event a success we are asking for donations of cakes to help with the fundraising. If you would like to donate, please contact Stephen Lloyd at Stephen.lloyd@wst.org.uk to arrange for collection or better still bring your cake along on the day.
