The Society Board are pleased to confirm that this year’s AGM will be held on Thursday, 27 June 2024 with a time and venue to be confirmed in due course.
Formation of Election Committee
Ally Simcock of Port Vale Supporters Club will be the Independent Chair of the Election Committee. Ally will be joined by Trust members, Andrew Edge and Daniel Jones.
Elections to the Society Board
There are currently six elected members of the Society Board and, having considered rules 60 and 62, where Board members will serve for a maximum of three terms and at least one third of the Board will resign each year, we can confirm that there are two vacancies on the Board at the AGM. The two existing Board members who will stand for re-election are Matthew Davies and Matthew Webber.
All members intending to stand as a candidate are requested to complete the online nomination form by the deadline of Monday, 20 May 2024.
The Board Election Policy details the rules of the election and these are a summary of the key points:
- The Election is open to any member who was a member prior to 27 December 2023 (six months prior to the date of the AGM);
- All nominations must be supported by two members;
- Candidates must submit a statement in support of their nomination as detailed in the Election Policy;
- The Election Committee will confirm the validity of each nomination.
I will contact candidates on receipt of their completed nomination form to outline the next steps. If you have any questions about the nomination process, then please contact mark.williams@wst.org.uk.
