| The Society Board met last month and confirmed that this year’s AGM will take place on Monday, 23 June 2025. The time and venue of the AGM will be sent in due course; however it is the intention of the Board to hold this meeting in person and online via Microsoft Teams. |
| Elections to the Society Board Rule 57 of the Society requires a minimum of six elected members and there are currently four elected members: Arfon Jones, Barry Jones, Scott Moreton and Brian Phillips. Rule 60 of the Society requires that Board members serve for a period of three years before seeking election. Both Arfon Jones and Barry Jones were elected at the 2022 AGM and would be required to stand at the 2025 AGM. Rule 64 of the Society requires that at least one third of elected members stand for election each year. This rule is satisfied as Arfon Jones and Barry Jones are standing for election under rule 60 represents 50% of the current elected Board. The Board therefore concluded that there are four places for election at the 2025 AGM. These are the positions of Arfon Jones and Barry Jones along with the two vacant elected positions that are currently being filled by four co-opted Board members. Co-opted Board members can also stand for election. |
| Formation of Election Committee An Election Committee must be formed to administer the election at the 2025 AGM. The Election Committee will consist of an Independent Chair along with two members. We therefore request that members who are willing to assist with the Election Committee please contact mark.williams@wst.org.uk by Sunday, 13 April 2025 to express their interest. All meetings of the Election Committee will take place on Microsoft Teams and we envisage that this will require no more that 3 one hour meetings during the evening of your time between the end of April to the end of May. Nomination forms will be issued once the Election Committee has been formed. |
