The Racecourse Community Foundation are pleased to announce details of a
free competition for teams attending the Grassroots Youth Football Day on
Saturday, 14th September for the Wrexham v Sutton home game.
A requirement of BT Sports for their live televised National League games is
for the home team to select two local grassroots teams to lead the players out
the tunnel and/or to provide a guard of honour. For this game, these two
grassroots teams will be selected at random from those attending.
The draw for this competition will take place on Saturday, 7th September
following the home game against Ayr in the Scottish Challenge Cup. Therefore,
only teams who have purchased their tickets by this date will be included in
the draw. The group leader of the winning teams will be contacted by phone
following the draw and given full information about arrangements.
Please note that for BT Sports live games, the two teams selected as mascots
must wear their own team’s kits to lead the players out and not Wrexham shirts.
